WHAT SETS US APART
Beam is led by a founding team that combines institutional art world expertise, behavioural financial strategy, and transformative education, positioning us uniquely to reshape how art is understood, valued, and collected today.
With experience spanning the Yale Center for British Art, global exhibition networks across London, New York, and Paris, and financial partnerships with institutions including the Bank of England and Parliament, we operate fluently across both the cultural and economic systems that define the art world, while intentionally challenging their limitations.
Abbie Griffiths, Founder and Creative Director, is a practising artist with exhibitions across the USA, Italy, Africa, and the UK. Her experience spans buying, selling, curating, and conserving fine art, including her former role as an Art Conservator at the Yale Center for British Art.
Embedded within global art networks in London, New York, and Paris, Abbie has curated high-end exhibitions featuring both blue-chip and emerging artists in the USA and London.
Her approach is grounded in firsthand artistic practice, institutional rigour, and a deep understanding of long-term cultural value. Guided by empathy and curatorial precision, her work centres on creating accessible, meaningful cultural experiences that connect artists and audiences while reinforcing the role of collecting as a considered, long-term cultural act.
Krystle McGilvery, Founder and Finance Director, bringing behavioural insight and financial strategy to the art world. Krystle is a Money & Behavioural Specialist and Chartered Accountant with 15+ years’ experience spanning financial strategy, behavioural science, and inclusive systems design. She helps individuals and organisations make clearer decisions under pressure by turning complex financial realities into practical, human systems that reduce stress and increase agency.
Krystle has partnered with organisations including Equifax, ITV, Moonpig, The Guardian and the Bank of England, and has been invited to Parliament to speak on economic inclusion; her work has also been featured across BBC and ITV platforms.
Alongside her professional work, Krystle is a painter and actor exploring themes of voice and visibility, reinforcing her belief that confidence is not a personality trait, but something built through the right conditions and support.
Jess King, Founder and Business Director, has a background in teaching and community building. A founder of a multiple award-winning, mission-led startup, she brings experience across education, operations, and building ethical, values-driven organisations. Her interests lie in learning for growth and change, supporting self-understanding through thoughtful questioning around identity, values, and direction.
Jess helps people build clarity and confidence, and develop meaningful relationships with their work and interests, including art. With networks across tech, education, and Africa, she focuses on clarity, access, and confidence, empowering people to move forward with intention.
She is particularly interested in the intersection of art, identity, and space as a catalyst for cultural understanding, and in shaping environments where individuals feel both welcomed and challenged to engage more deeply.
Together, we combine curatorial depth with educational guidance ensuring collectors are not only well advised, but genuinely empowered.
